Over the past two-and-a-half decades I have written speeches for several senior public figures – political and corporate – for a range of formal and informal occasions. In addition to conference speeches, I have also written many humorous speeches for social occasions.

I have posted some examples of my work published under my own name below. For very obvious reasons I do not post examples of speeches written for others.

No one wants wants to look or sound like Gore Vidal’s description of Eisenhower speaking at the GOP convention… delivering a speech with all the wonderment of just having seen it for the first time.
This is a collaborative process – we discuss content style and message and I prepare drafts for your approval. I am not here to to put someone else’s words or thoughts in your mouth.
My skill is in bringing the best out of you. Cato (the Elder) was right when he said: Grasp the subject, the words will follow. If you truly believe in the issue or topic you are speaking about, that will come across to your audience.
There is also one other good dictum for any speech or address – be it a corporate presentation or a best man’s speech, and it comes from the late Duke of Edinburgh:
what the backside cannot endure, the brain cannot absorb.
Don’t forget the wise words of Ralph Waldo Emerson:
“All the great speakers were bad speakers at first.”
